AMD SDK v2.5, Catalyst 11.7 and 11.8

Hey guys, just wanted to inform you about the latest updates of the SDK and Catalyst driver.

I am very disappointed of what AMD does in the last time period. There are lots of discussions on AMD dev board about the problems that came with these new versions:

All of these threads affect oclHashcat's. But the most annoying bug is the 100% CPU problem. Until AMD fixes it i recommend you to stick to one of Catalyst 11.4 - 11.6 and if you are on linux you need SDK 2.4, too.

As soon they fix this problem i will upgrade or recompile the oclHashcat's to SDK 2.5.

some addition: windows user have that 100% cpu bug since long time. so if you are on windows and you dont care about the the 100% cpu bug you can upgrade to 11.7 or 11.8, whatever you like more.

more news: while i was developing a new algorithm for oclHashcat-plus i got some strange error that a hash was not found that should be have found since i knew the plain text. but it did not. to make the story short: 2nd gpu is bugged again on linux at cat 11.6

conclusion:
========

on linux: use either cat 11.4 or 11.5
on windows: use cat 11.8

ok more news. while developing a new algorithm i found out the cat 11.5 on linux create false positives on the 2nd gpu. thats only on 6990 not 5970. when using cat 11.4 everything works fine.

conclusion:
========

on linux: use cat 11.4 + SDK 2.4
on windows: use cat 11.8

good news about RC version of 11.9 driver from AMD dev forum: http://forums.amd.com/forum/messageview....did=153211

it says the 100% cpu bug is finally fixed. the RC version is for windows only so i cant verify myself. someone with AMD + windows can try please?

I see there's a 11.9 for Linux/64 now. Date says 09/28. Has anyone tried it yet? I guess I'll throw that on the machine I'm building tomorrow.
