Hello everyone, I am a newcomer. Must I use hashcat based on GPU? Is it possible to use hashcat only based on opencl 1.2? (My English is not very good, please forgive me if there is any grammatical error.)
hashcat uses GPU by default, skipping the CPU

you can use command line option -D 1 to tell hashcat just to use CPU

but be aware, most hashes will be much more faster on a GPU

can you post your hardware specs? CPU and GPU? what kind of hash do you try to crack?

thanks for your anwer!!! It's a gpu alike AI accelerator, support Opencl 1.2. It is not on market yet. And we hope to enable hashcat on its dev board and enrich its profile.
I'm intrigued, go on.
