hi im thinking of getting the ASUS TUF GAMING FX505DT-BQ051T AMD Ryzen 5 8GB RAM 512GB SSD 15.6 Laptop do you guys think this laptop would work well with hashcat?

Laptops are not recommended when using hashcat. The thermals and airflow are too restricted when using hashcat and can easily damage/destroy the laptop or cause artifacting from burning out the GPU. If you're using the laptop for short attempts it will do the trick but always be weary that laptops are not designed adequately for long term using hashcat.

If you need portability or you mind space, you are better off by building an itx system. I'm only using a laptop for Hashcat for short runs, like 2 minutes.

You can use laptops with good airflow, just reapply manufactureres paste with something better. I have MSI laptop gtx 1060, have done mining and used for hashcat, no problems so far. (Laptop is now 5 years old)
