I have 3 question:
1.a cpu with a lot of cores and threads compare with a strong vga which is faster for cracking password ?
2.between vga amd and vga nvidia what is cracking password better ?
3.if i don't have the password of this in my wordlist i can't cracking password with strong cpu and strong vga ?
I need the answer thank erybody a lot.
I’m also interested in knowing this, I heard that video cards are better for this kind of thing
1) Even a very weak GPU will massively outperform even the best CPU
2) Neither, really. It's just dependant on the card rather than NVIDIA vs AMD but NVIDIA has some flexibility advantages, as we can use CUDA so all of the VRAM can be used instead of just 1/4. This doesn't affect speed, though. Just means you can load in gigantic hashlists/rules
3) Correct, which is what rules are for. Taking "Password" and turning it into other common variants, like "Password1"
Is Hashcat capable of utilizing both multiple CPU cores and GPU cores in the same run?
yes it is
