Hi all Smile I just bought a video card second hand, the NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS, because I finally wanted to see in action oclHashcat-plus..!! Big Grin
In fact on nvidia website its written Cuda compatible, so I downloaded the most recent driver I found (I hope!) named "301.42-desktop-winxp-32bit-english-whql.exe" , Driver Version 6.14.13.0142, Driver Date 2012-05-15 .. it installed all properly, the videocard looks working good.. BUT, when I run the text example:

"cudaHashcat-plus32 -t 32 -a 7 example0.hash ?a?a?a?a example.dict"

I receive "ERROR: No NVidia compatible platform found"

Is there anything I missed to install? or the card is really not compatible?? Sad

Thanks
i would not be surprised if nvidia dropped support for that card. it's over six years old.
.. well.. its maybe six years old, but the nvidia web says it supports Cuda:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-306.2...river.html
"GeForce 7 series:
7950 GX2, 7950 GT, 7900 GTX, 7900 GT/GTO, 7900 GS, 7800 SLI, 7800 GTX, 7800 GT, 7800 GS, 7650 GS, 7600 LE, 7600 GT, 7600 GS..Includes support for applications built using CUDA 5 Preview or earlier version of the CUDA Toolkit. More information at http://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-toolkit .Supports multiple languages and APIs for GPU computing: CUDA C, CUDA C++, CUDA Fortran, OpenCL, DirectCompute, and Microsoft C++ AMP. Supports single GPU and NVIDIA SLI technology* on DirectX 9 and DirectX 10."

I installed also this one just to be sure, but still "ERROR: No NVidia compatible platform found" ..

So @epixoip , why the nvidia wepage would say it supports, when instead it doesnt??
damn, its hard to believe this, because if yes they would trick the customers, wasting money, like me.. Sad .. there must be something else.. maybe download that "CUDA 4.2 FOR WINDOWS - Drivers" at http://developer.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-downloads ??
The latest WHQL driver is 306.23 not 301.42. Try installing that and see if it helps.

The lowest Nvidia graphics card to support CUDA is a GeForce 8400 GS.
thanks @M@LIK, no help (btw, 1024x768@72hz with 306 is less "clear" than 301) .. Sad
thanks @Pixel, good to know.. Tongue

it does not explicitly say on that page that your card supports CUDA. and as a warning for the future, manufacturers *do* deprecate cards over time. just because nvidia chooses to support CUDA on a certain card today doesn't mean they will six months from now.
