Is any version of hashcat family able to crack TripleDES?

TripleDES is an encryption as far as I know, not a hashing algorithm.
like descrypt, there have been crypt schemes based on 3des. but they are not common and i don't think there's any standard implementation.
Rabbitz, what software are you using that is using 3des-based crypt?
