as stated in post #7 of this thread, sha512 and sha3 are examples of 64-bit aglorithms.

yes.
In the case of WPA which is 128-bit or even WPA2 (256-bit?) how does this card shape up?

The heavy stuff in WPA is SHA1, so 32-bit.

Can not find out the type? I am thinking of 290(x) or 7970 or 7990. Or is there a better alternative?
When in doubt, buy a 290X.
