The Catalyst driver (amd_13.30_rc3_linux_jan13_2014.zip) is Beta and oclHashcat (Linux) bombs with:

Device #1: Spectre, 1941MB, 720Mhz, 8MCU
ERROR: ./kernels/4098/m0900_a3.VLIW0.llvmir: No such file or directory

Is there intention to (future) support these APUs and if it is a bad idea, why?

support for Spectre was added in 1.02b33, so it will be in 1.02 when it is released.
