Hi everyone! I need your advice,
already got 4x 290x sapphire Tri-x 4gb OC version,
FX8350 cpu,
G-skill 1866 16gb ram,
and MB Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5

I read motherboard manual and they said there that i can connect only 3 PCI-E x16 cards, is this true? Or i can get riser x1-x16 and it will work fine?

Another question what power supply i need to buy, whats your advise?

Thank you!
i use ud7 990fxa and run 4x6990 or 5x7970 , no problem , i think ud5 will be the same, if you dont use smal water coolers the space is hard to calculate using big aircooling thinks , but i never handle those rizzzerzzz , but must work... test it and write down if something dont work.

what cooling systems do you use?

There is not enough space with stock coolers Sad
Because space on my E-atx board is not enough for all 4 i have to move on water, so the space of each card is 50% less then with the old aircooling system.
1cm space between each card on air let the heat grow on a danger level.

btw i use a 1500watt enermax , but i think 1200 watt are eneugh for your cards.
i like your cpu , on water it kickass on oc.

if you wanna use risers , you have to rebuild your tower or use a 80 dollar mining case , but its open air Wink

but a mining naked tower would be the best solution for you i think.

Can you make a photo of how it's look with water-cooled system or url where you bought your gpu water-cooled system?

PS: I ordered 1250W chieftec PSU
1250W PSU is nowhere big enough, 4x 290X can easily draw 1200W by themselves.

My problem now is fit in 3x 290x tri-x , as i wrote before stock air cooling system is bigger(3mm wider then 2U slot) than i can insert without risers in 1-3-5 pci-e slots. I hope 1250w would enough for 3 cards when i modify stock cooling or buy another cooling, don't want to go for risers yet.
it has been stated repeatedly on these forums that you should avoid buying OEM-design cards.
This is only 4x6990 but coolersystem is the same you can buy for 290x or others , watercool , 156 dollars each...
