I've tried to crack a DES(Unix) hash with oclHashcat-lite 0.06 using nVidia GeForce 8600 GTS.
Strangely enough, the speed is only about 1.4 M passwords per second (though MD5 cracking speed looks OK -- it's about 127 M p/s).
Using patched John the Ripper (1.7.8-omp-des-7), average rate of 5 M p/s is achieved on my Intel Core 2 Quad CPU (2.4 GHz).
Is it alright?
