I know that by default hashcat is set to run on MD5's.
Is there a way to run it against a plaintext file?
what?
I've got a list of passwords I want to use for statistical analysis.
The passwords are written in plain text with no encryption.
I want to see how many passwords my algorithms pick up.
That way I can see how many matches i get.

Is there a file I can paste into the OpenCL directory to do this?
If you look at the algorithms Hashcat supports, you'll see that one of those algorithms is indeed Plaintext.
found it.
ty, good sir.
you are an enigma wrapped in a mystery.
wrapped in bacon.
mmmm....bacon.
