Well, the link to the rule file is not working anymore but if you had the rule :, it uses the word as is and it would crack the hash. It is possible that since the max password length for each hash is 7 that every word (without rules or after applying the rule) longer than 7 get truncated to 7 and tried against the hashes that it would get cracked anyway. That would not be a bug but an intelligent feature.
