By all means, feel free to read and ask questions. However, please do refrain from questioning others' builds or providing inaccurate/misleading advice. While your post was phrased as a question, it read more like you were lowkey hinting to him that he only needed 1 CPU and a fraction of the RAM. Remember that we are building password cracking rigs, not mining rigs. Password cracking rigs are complex and expensive, and providing inaccurate advice can result in someone wasting thousands of dollars plus hours of downtime. EVGA currently makes the best OEM blower card: https://videocardz.net/evga-geforce-rtx-2080-ti-11gb/ Great, thanks for the advice. Will try to find this one shipped: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-2280-KR On the pictures on their site I can see the air hole via radiator ribs in the back of the card, which looks like the right design. RE: Building 8GPU cracking station question - epixoip - 06-20-2019 Yep, that's the one. If that was the case than i apologize, as i previously stated, my intent was to learn. i learned about PLX and what it may allow from these forums and was intrigued at what i was missing. thank you. RE: Building 8GPU cracking station question - gs135269 - 09-23-2019 I heard that nvidia will launch a new 7nm gpu in 2020, and why not wait a few more months? RE: Building 8GPU cracking station question - parmera - 10-21-2019 This blower EVGA 11G-P4-2280-KRE (https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-2280-KR) seems to be out of line or sold out for now, unfortunately. Going over the specs, I would like to understand about the differences between PNY and EVGA regarding the blower capacity / airflow directions and correct operation with 8 GPUs but not found a clue. Would you know if these others 2 models below (Gigabyte and Asus) would work properly in a 8GPU build with TYAN FT77? Gigabyte GV-N208TTURBO-11GC: https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N208TTURBO-11GC-rev-10#kf ASUS TURBO-RTX2080TI-11G : https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/TURBO-RTX2080TI-11G/ RE: Building 8GPU cracking station question - NoReply - 10-21-2019 (10-21-2019, 03:05 AM)parmera Wrote: This blower EVGA 11G-P4-2280-KRE (https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-2280-KR) seems to be out of line or sold out for now, unfortunately. If you take a close look at the first picture of the card, you should see that the cooler is not only open where the radial fan is sitting, but also at the top (top w.r.t. to the picture), which is actually the rear of the card. This is a huge benefit if you consider how the GPUs are aligned in the TYAN FT77, since this additional opending goes perfectly well with the airflowof the chassis. These two are do not have the mentioned opening. The whole cooler is closed except for the hole of the radial fan. Epixoip was already referring to this here: (06-18-2019, 08:21 PM)epixoip Wrote: For some reason I'm unable to resolve pny.eu but is this the card you're planning to use? |
