Crashing PC along with errors - thunor - 08-10-2022 Hope someone can point me in the right direction, I've googled the errors but nothing came up I could use to help fix it. I get the below errors in bold, then if I run it again the PC will crash. I'm only trying it on one MD5 hash which is just 'password' (286755fad04869ca523320acce0dc6a4)! Benchmarking works perfectly fine. I'm using W10, latest NVIDIA and CUDA drivers on a RTX3080. This is the CMD window output: C:\UsersDesktop\hashcat>hashcat.exe -a 3 -m 0 hash.txt hashcat (v6.2.5) starting * Device #1: WARNING! Kernel exec timeout is not disabled. Cracking performance lower than expected? * Append -O to the commandline. This lowers the maximum supported password/salt length (usually down to 32). * Append -w 3 to the commandline. This can cause your screen to lag. * Append -S to the commandline. This has a drastic speed impact but can be better for specific attacks. Typical scenarios are a small wordlist but a large ruleset. * Update your backend API runtime / driver the right way: https://hashcat.net/faq/wrongdriver * Create more work items to make use of your parallelization power: https://hashcat.net/faq/morework Session..........: hashcat Status...........: Exhausted Hash.Mode........: 0 (MD5) Hash.Target......: 286755fad04869ca523320acce0dc6a4 Time.Started.....: Tue Aug 09 23:29:00 2022 (6 secs) Time.Estimated...: Tue Aug 09 23:29:06 2022 (0 secs) Kernel.Feature...: Pure Kernel Guess.Mask.......: ?1?2?2?2?2?2?2 [7] Guess.Charset....: -1 ?l?d?u, -2 ?l?d, -3 ?l?d*!$@_, -4 Undefined Guess.Queue......: 7/15 (46.67%) Speed.#1.........: 20250.1 MH/s (1.75ms) @ Accel:32 Loops:128 Thr:512 Vec:1 Recovered........: 0/1 (0.00%) Digests Progress.........: 134960504832/134960504832 (100.00%) Rejected.........: 0/134960504832 (0.00%) Restore.Point....: 1679616/1679616 (100.00%) Restore.Sub.#1...: Salt:0 Amplifier:80256-80352 Iteration:0-128 Candidate.Engine.: Device Generator Candidates.#1....: 8z78wxn -> Xqxqxqg Hardware.Mon.#1..: Temp: 50c Fan: 59% Util: 91% Core:1866MHz Mem:9242MHz Bus:16 Driver temperature threshold met on GPU #1. You think your plaintext is "password", but it's actually "password\n", that is: password followed by a newline I'll demonstrate: pdo@newmac ~ % echo password | md5 286755fad04869ca523320acce0dc6a4 but if I use the "-n" option for echo (meaning don't append the newline) pdo@newmac ~ % echo -n password | md5 5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99 (08-10-2022, 01:02 AM)thunor Wrote: Hope someone can point me in the right direction, I've googled the errors but nothing came up I could use to help fix it.
