--outfile-check-dir # how to use? - Snoopy - 09-08-2022

trying around with some hashcat options i didnt use for cracking until now, stumbling over --outfile-check-dir

help says: specify the outfile directory to monitor for plains

so it sounds like when using dictionary attack i can specify another directory where hashcat scans for *.txt,  *.dict or any textfile (which?) with new plains, like adding a new dictionary to the attack when hashcat is already running

i tried around but i cannot get it working, maybe i missed the point or how this options works, can anyone help?

what do i have to be aware of? just running with mode 0? what kind of file-ending?
