massive Tesla P4 performance problems - zenowl77 - 06-17-2025
i am running hashcat with a Tesla P4 on proxmox, in a windows VM and the tesla is under performing by quite a bit. just wondering if anyone has any fixes / suggestions?
nvidia-smi is set to persistent mode, P0 performance state, drivers are configured for max performance, hashcat is using highest performance setting for workload profile (-w 4)
i have tried both the Cuda and OpenCL instance for the device (same performance roughly), trying to test against bruteforce to make sure it has enough of a workload and nothing else is the problem.
on benchmarks it performs for example i should see 29.9GH/s NTLM, i see 1.838 - 2.167 GH/s NTLM for reference on just how badly it is under performing, i am not expecting anything it shouldn't be capable of for sure but i would like to at least get closer to what it should do.
