Looks like the 8970 is a 7970 ghz edition for desktop oems. Nothing new for this series, hopefully its just a changing of naming schemes and not a issue with chips and/or GCN2 supposed release in Quarter 2 this year

there's 8970 (OEM) which is a tahiti xt gpu at boosted clocks, and then there's 8970 which is a curacao xt gpu.
