Hardware for 4x7970 - trancekat - 03-15-2013 Hi All, I'm looking to build a system with 4x7970's. I have the cards already, but am not sure as to what mobo/case/PSU's (and how many PSUs) to buy. Can anyone please recommend some hardware for a build for around the $4k? Thank you in advance for your time and help. RE: Hardware for 4x7970 - epixoip - 03-15-2013 This is our standard build: Chenbro RM41300-FS81 LEPA G1600-MA Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 AMD FX-8150 CORSAIR CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9 Due to heat considerations I would only recommend using three GPUs max, leaving a one-slot gap in between each GPU so that they cool properly. With this setup your temps will stay < 70C under 100% load. But this setup is capable of four GPUs if that's what you want to do. RE: Hardware for 4x7970 - epixoip - 03-15-2013 If you're feeling particularly adventurous, check out the SUPERMICRO SYS-7047GR-TPRF. But that's only if you're looking to really trip balls. |
