This tread advices of buying 7979, which i went on and bought.
Im getting a "(VM).kernel not found in cache! Building may take a while.." Error.
Is this card normally works with hashcat plus or should I send it back?

the error you have pasted is not an error. maybe you can paste the real error.

Very sorry for not being able to paste the full output. I already send the card back can't run it again. I still wish to know if 7970 is supported as it shows the best value/price in my range.

you do not have a 7970, you have a 7790. this gpu is supported in plus 0.15. if you're using 0.15, you likely didn't extract the archive with full paths.
