ATI cards on Windows - mastercracker - 02-11-2011 I consider buying some ATI card because they are cheaper for the speed on the OCLhashcat's programs. One of the drawback (in Windows) is to have every card plugged to a monitor. Is there any workaround to that or a special plug that make the card thinks it's with a monitor? RE: ATI cards on Windows - Rolf - 02-11-2011 There are dummy plugs. Idk if they're being sold, but they can be made. Check here and here. Now 2 other questions: 1) If you use those dummy plugs, from what I have read, you need to extend the desktop to the monitors that hash the dummy plug. However since there are no real monitor attached, does it mean that you completely loose a part of your desktop? 2) Does this dummy plug requirement still holds for Windows 7? RE: ATI cards on Windows - atom - 02-11-2011 both questions can be answered with yes RE: ATI cards on Windows - Rolf - 02-11-2011 Maybe you can duplicate desktop on those ghost monitors, then you wont lose anything. RE: ATI cards on Windows - atom - 02-12-2011 yep, good idea |
