Unbreakable hashes - adrian_mt262 - 01-25-2014

I've tried to brute force 2 hases from IP.board 3.4.6 in last 5 weeks it got to 15 characters and still nothing , also no wordlist helped me. Maybe are uncrackable or something like that? Anyone around knowing ipb hash system? So that tell me if i waste time for nothing or not Big Grin
also, do some one have a around 30 GB wordlist?

RE: Unbreakable hashes - mastercracker - 01-26-2014

It's hashcat's forum here so use -m 2811 with your hashConfusedalt pair. I doubt that you have bruteforced up to 15 chars and that's a very bad approach anyway. Your hash is crackable but the difficulty depends only on the actual password. It takes experience to become a good cracker. Practice on unsalted hash first, see what passwords or pattern are popular and then apply what you've learned to your hashes.
