ERROR: cuModuleLoad() 209 - The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) 1.0.9 - cudahashcat-1.3.1 - newb - exxy - 12-04-2014 Hi all, thanks for reading this thread. As detailed in a thread earlier by another user, i am getting the error ERROR: cuModuleLoad() 209 when running ./cudaHashcat32.bin -m 2500 file.hccap wordlist.txt ----- To give a bit of background on my environment i have a Nvidia GT630. To get this far in making hashcat work with my environment i followed the following tutorial: http://www.blackmoreops.com/2014/06/27/The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali)-linux-1-0-7-kernel-3-14-install-proprietary-nvidia-driver/ & http://www.blackmoreops.com/2014/06/30/The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali)-linux-1-0-7-kernel-3-14-install-nvidia-driver-kernel-module-cuda-pyrit/ (apparently a 2 part tutorial). This installed perfectly fine however where asking in part 2 for apt-get install python2.7-libpcap, i couldnt only find "python-libpcap" after installing this and continuing on the tutorial - i had no install issues. ----------- as far as i can obtain, my video card is working properly. on my headend X sessions running GLXINFO provides nice output and i get the following when running: #pyrit list_cores Pyrit 0.4.0 (C) 2008-2011 Lukas Lueg http://pyrit.googlecode.com This code is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3+ The following cores seem available... #1: 'CUDA-Device #1 'GeForce GT 630'' #2: 'CPU-Core (SSE2)' #3: 'CPU-Core (SSE2)' #4: 'CPU-Core (SSE2)' #5: 'CPU-Core (SSE2)' #6: 'CPU-Core (SSE2)' #7: 'CPU-Core (SSE2)' #8: 'CPU-Core (SSE2)' & # lspci | grep VGA 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK107 [GeForce GT 630] (rev a1) ------ I noticed in the thread below it suggested reinstalling the Nvidia driver from the nvidia site however when i dropped my Xsession and attempted to run #sh ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-340.58.run it advises me that i need to uninstall the packages i did with the debian install. To be honest i have no idea on what they are..... i assume from the tutorials. Either way when downloading Cuda from hashcat, i get the above error and would ever so love to get rid of it as i got this box specifically for doing GPU crunching as im an osx boy and understand that hashcat cant go on osx RE: ERROR: cuModuleLoad() 209 - The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) 1.0.9 - cudahashcat-1.3.1 - newb - exxy - 12-09-2014 hi all - i have blown away this instance that this was done on with the idea of starting fresh - this thread is the latest: http://hashcat.net/forum/thread-3887.html feel free to close this thread mods.
