Radeon 6990 vs Nvidia 970 - FranzVerde - 07-06-2015 Hi, I have a question about the comparison of these two graphics cards. I can't find a benchmark of 6990. Which card is best for hash cracking? Thank you. RE: Radeon 6990 vs Nvidia 970 - Xanadrel - 07-06-2015 6990 is a dual gpu card, you should avoid dual gpu cards, they are power hungry and produce a lot of heat. So i'm only interesting in which card is faster. RE: Radeon 6990 vs Nvidia 970 - wgmmmx - 07-06-2015 If power and heat is not problem then faster is HD6990 from gtx970 about 30%. This comment shows your inexperience. Everyone must be concerned with how much power a GPU draws, regardless of whether you pay for electricity or not. The more power a GPU draws, the more problems and complications arise from using that card. The 6990 is a 450W abomination. As Xanadrel stated, you'd be wise to avoid any dual-GPU card, and also wise to avoid AMD for a new build. RE: Radeon 6990 vs Nvidia 970 - FranzVerde - 07-07-2015 Yes, I am a newbie in this field. Thank you a lot for answers. |
