Radeon 6990 vs Nvidia 970 - FranzVerde - 07-06-2015

Hi, I have a question about the comparison of these two graphics cards.
I can't find a benchmark of 6990. Which card is best for hash cracking?

Thank you.

6990 is a dual gpu card, you should avoid dual gpu cards, they are power hungry and produce a lot of heat.

And if i'm okay with power consumption (i have it for free for now Smile )? So i'm only interesting in which card is faster.

If power and heat is not problem then faster is HD6990 from gtx970 about 30%.

This comment shows your inexperience. Everyone must be concerned with how much power a GPU draws, regardless of whether you pay for electricity or not. The more power a GPU draws, the more problems and complications arise from using that card. The 6990 is a 450W abomination. As Xanadrel stated, you'd be wise to avoid any dual-GPU card, and also wise to avoid AMD for a new build.
