oclHashcat on a Mac - simplyslow - 10-01-2015 I've run Hashcat on a Mac with The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) Linux. The only references I've found to running oclHashcat on a Mac refer to running it with/through Ubuntu and the Catalyst 14.9 installation. What I'm hoping to do is install a Nvidia GTX 970 reference card in the Mac and run oclHashcat off of a DVD disk like I am with the The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) Linux disk. Can anyone share any insights? Thanks. RE: oclHashcat on a Mac - unix-ninja - 10-01-2015 No build of oclHashcat exists for OSX. Last anyone checked, the OSX implementation of OpenCL was severely broken. If you want to run this on Mac hardware, you will need to boot into a LiveCD of Linux first (I would recommend The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali)). This is not a supported configuration. For further information, search these forums. |
