reference vs custom coolers - mattjackson123 - 01-28-2016 i will be buying a new graphics card soon, most likely a gtx 970, and have heard that the reference single fan design is far better for cracking that the custom multi fan design. From what i have heard ( pls correct if wrong) is that reference cards run hotter and louder than custom designs. The card will be primarily used for wpa/wpa2 cracking, as well as some hashes here and there. I am wondering if it is essential to get a certain type, and also if a certain brand of card is noticeably better than the others RE: reference vs custom coolers - epixoip - 01-28-2016 Reference cards do not run hotter, no.
