Problems adding additional GPU - bkoffler - 07-07-2016 I have been working with Hashcat for a while now running with 2x290 on an intel DP69BGB3 motherboard. I recently purchased two additional cards which i would like to add to this rig but i can't seem to get them working. Additionally, i have a 1600 watt power supply for this rig in anticipation of running the 4 cards from it - so power isn't an issue. The first two cards are connected directly into the 16x slots on the motherboard while the second two will be connected using 1X risers. I know that the computer is recognizing that the three cards are there as you can see from the output below: $ lspci -vnn | grep VGA -A 12 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Hawaii XT / Grenada XT [Radeon R9 290X/390X] [1002:67b0] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: PC Partner Limited / Sapphire Technology R9 290X Tri-X OC [174b:e285] Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 41 Memory at a0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) Memory at b0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) I/O ports at 4000 Memory at f0d00000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) Expansion ROM at f0d60000 [disabled] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel driver in use: fglrx_pci 01:00.1 Audio device [0403]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Hawaii HDMI Audio [1002:aac8] All three cards can be seen by the comp, but when i try to run Hashcat to benchmark the program just hangs.. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? I would really appreciate any help you could provide me with. RE: Problems adding additional GPU - epixoip - 07-08-2016 I would suspect your risers are to blame. Also be sure to regenerate xorg.conf with amdconfig. |
