GTX650M faster than GTX960 in some hashes - supercoffee - 12-27-2016

How is it possible for a GTX650M to be faster than a GTX960 for these hashes? Is it a fluke or perhaps a driver issue on the 960?

Specifically, the first 10 or so hashes on the list are 10x faster on the 650M than the 960.  I posted the whole benchmark result for both (at least until it crashed).

The 650M is in a 2012 MBP, the 960 is in my Hackintosh desktop. Both running OSX 10.11 (El Capitan).

I updated to the latest version (built from source). Here are the new numbers. The output of the 960's benchmark has been trimmed to the same length as the 650M's, since the 650M crashes at Oracle H.

Again, the 650M has absurd numbers for MD4, MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA384, SHA512, and SipHash.  How is it possible that a laptop GPU is pushing around 1TH/s ? Could this be a problem with the benchmark?

RE: GTX650M faster than GTX960 in some hashes - epixoip - 12-28-2016

There's definitely a major, catastrophic problem with the "Macbook w/ 650M" system; atom must have missed the "1182.5 GH/s" on MD4 which is definitely inaccurate to say the least. It looks like there's a problem with your OpenCL installation, and based on the numbers you are "achieving," I'd say the kernels probably aren't even executing, just instantly returning.

RE: GTX650M faster than GTX960 in some hashes - atom - 12-28-2016

I didn't miss that, it's a typical OpenCL runtime on OSX fail and some of them are being workaround with hashat v3.20. It was just natural to check with workarounds first. Now that the problem persist all I can say is that you should go and blame Apple for their OpenCL runtime.
