Should I buy Risers for my GPU setup - Radar-jboo - 02-09-2017 I was wondering if I should by risers for my current setup Motherboard is a rampageV with 4 GTX 980 TI's with 64 GB of RAM. I was also wondering how good this rig would be for professional cracking and if I should perhaps invest a bit more money into another rig/bigger rig to get 8 GPU's as opposed to 4. Currently I am dual booting Ubuntu and Windows but I mainly stick to Ubuntu. RE: Should I buy Risers for my GPU setup - kiara - 02-09-2017 hi! what u meant is if u should buy 4 risers for 4 current cards? the question is why do u need risers if ur current rig is working.. about ur other question if "ur rig is good" with 8 cards? 1st i dont see 8 pci lanes on ur mobo , overall pci lane 6, 4 x16 1 x1 and 1 x4 RE: Should I buy Risers for my GPU setup - epixoip - 02-10-2017 Gaming hardware but asking about professional cracking? So the reason why I ask is because I haven't really tested the rig out too heavily and am just concerned that if I were to leave it on for more than a week cracking passwords I might burn the graphics cards. Also I wasn't asking if I could put 8 GPU's in a motherboard with 4 slots. I was asking if it would be wise to build a bigger rig with 8 GPU or if performance on this would be adequate. Sorry if the wording was confusing. RE: Should I buy Risers for my GPU setup - MackWage - 02-23-2017 (02-10-2017, 01:01 AM)epixoip Wrote: Gaming hardware but asking about professional cracking?
