usr/bin/opencl directory missing abort - ejonesss - 04-07-2017 hashcat aborts with a core dump and at the top in red is usr/bin/opencl directory not found however if i try to trick hashcat by going to the usr/bin and make new folder named opencl then i get some like mem too small. if it is that i need the opencl drivers where can i get them? or is the geforce 8500 gt 512 meg too legacy and i need something like tesla? what is the usr/bin/opencl is that a folder or a binary? can i simply copy the binary from another install like The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) and set the permissions to execute? RE: usr/bin/opencl directory missing abort - royce - 11-19-2017 The GeForce 8500 is indeed quite outdated. Also, don't take anything from The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) - its OpenCL is ... questionable. Get a new card (I'd recommend a used GTX 1080 Founders Edition from eBay if you can swing it), Linux, and the latest drivers from NVIDIA, and follow a simple baseline like: https://hashcat.net/faq/wrongdriver |
