Hashcat not starting in Windows 10 Home Edition - sp00ks - 12-30-2020 Hi, I have a Dell XPS13 laptop that I'd like to use with hashcat for testing purposes using the CPU. Not for cracking just to test my scripts are working correctly. The current output I get when running hashcat is no output, the cursor does blink for a second giving the impression something was tried in the background but then no output, like so. (This is what i mean by no output) c:\Program Files\hashcat-6.1.1>hashcat.exe -I hashcat (v6.1.1) starting... c:\Program Files\hashcat-6.1.1> I can recreate the issue with hashcat 6.1.0, and from either Powershell or Windows Command Prompt. I am running the cmd and PS prompts as administrator as well using runas. Am I missing a software download? I have installed: Name: Intel® CPU Runtime for OpenCL™ Applications for Windows* OS File: w_opencl_runtime_p_2021.1.1.191.exe Location: https://registrationcenter-download.intel.com/akdlm/irc_nas/vcp/17389/w_opencl_runtime_p_2021.1.1.191.exe Name: Intel® Graphics - Windows® 10 DCH Drivers File: igfx_win10_100.9079.exe Location: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/30079/a08/igfx_win10_100.9079.exe Driver Version: 27.20.100.9079 Build Date: December 11, 2020 Laptop Hardware Information: Processor: 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz Graphics: Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics Any suggestions are gratefully received. RE: Hashcat not starting in Windows 10 Home Edition - sp00ks - 01-03-2021 As a workaround, I can disable the Graphics driver from Device Manager and execute hashcat as expected. Maybe the 2021 Graphics drivers will work with Hashcat in the future. |
