| I tried the part with
sudo dd if=/dev/sdb of=disk bs=512 count=1
sudo dd if=/dev/sdb1 of=part bs=512 count=1
Worked fine for me without any problems, thanks!

| Okay I don't know how I did it, but it looks like it worked... Hashcat actually cracked the password. Besides New Year's Eve, it was definitely the loudest day of the year in my neighborhood :D
