Thread: Cards not cracking at the same speed
Post: RE: Cards not cracking at the same speed

By emergency shutdown, I meant hashcat's default for the AMD cards. I was not aware that different vendors would have different heat tolerances.

Post: RE: Cards not cracking at the same speed

90 is emergency shutdown level. 86 is pretty close. Regular cracking temperature, I like my cards to stay in the 70's at the highest. I could be wrong, but I doubt if those cards will last long if the...

I don't know if that'll fix your hashing speed problem or not, but it's definitely a problem that needs to get fixed.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I bookmarked this (http://www.reddit.com/r/netsec/comments/271fcp/hashtopus_an_oclhashcat_distributed_overlay_to/) link from a couple months ago where atom (creator of hashcat...

I don't know about running in Windows (I use Linux for cracking), but I can say you're running WAY hot, and that could have something to do with it.

This (http://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=linux_server_howto) wiki entry is updated and tells you what you need to do. The drivers can be weird, so if it's still not working, make sure you follow this...

Post: RE: Multi GPU clustering

VCL is dead - it does not work, but that was for clustering multiple GPUs on different machines. You should have no problem with multiple GPUs on the SAME machine. Hashcat handles that by default. You...

Post: RE: [solved] overheating after upgrade

It's also probably worth noting that since upgrading, my hashing speeds have slowed down slightly on most of the algorithms, comparing the benchmark command from before and now.

Post: RE: overheating after upgrade

Thanks K9, I see what's happening. I hadn't noticed the fans weren't turning on. I set gpu-temp-retain to 65, and we're working well! One more question. Does the gpu-temp-retain actually slow down...

Post: RE: overheating after upgrade

Well the default for that is 80, right? That seems like a fine place to have it to me, but my cards blow right past that without even slowing down with this new version of software.

I have 3x 7970 in a case. I have two of these machines, both with the same issues. I upgraded from oclHashcat 1.01 with Catalyst 13.12 (all worked fine) to oclHashcat 1.21 with Catalyst 14.4. Now ...

Shoot. Well thanks for the reply. Can we get the wiki or something updated to say so? Also...can you expound a bit? VCL just isn't being updated anymore? It wasn't worth making hashcat work with ...

I've tried installing a VCL cluster with one broker and two compute nodes just like the wiki describes, but I'm not having a lot of success. I haven't seen much in the forums about VCL lately, and the...

I upgraded my password cracking box, and the speeds slowed down. What is even more frustrating though, is the cracking actually stops sometimes. For example, usually I used to rip straight through ...
