Post: RE: Dramatically drops hashrate on 1080ti

Dropping to 900 kH/s from 1 MH/s after 8 hours seems normal to me, because it is just not possible to maintain the boost clock you are seeing in the first couple of seconds. You will also lose perform...

Post: RE: Questions about 3090 cooling and form factor

If your budget is not enough to afford an enthusiast platform, I think you should stick with two 3090s. I'm also not sure, how good three 3090s would run with a single PSU, given that two of them can ...

Well, first of all, hashcat does not support any kind of online password guessing. That means you will have to type any generated password by hand. It is possible to generate word lists though by usi...

Post: RE: Unstable OpenCL driver Detected

This error refers to your Intel iGPU (it says "Device 2" in front of the error), which is not used anyways. Cracking should work fine with your 1060.

Post: RE: Mining rig gives little speed increase

Hashcat usually ignores your CPU by default when GPUs are available, but you can go with -d 2 to be sure. The risers might be correct for power draw, but the bandwith supplied by PCIe 3.0 x1 is not...

There are two bottlenecks when running a dictonary attack with this setup, because candidates are processed by the CPU first and then distributed to the GPUs: 1. A presumably shitty CPU 2. GPUs, wh...

Post: RE: Hashcat algorithm.

Just look at the wiki page (https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=example_hashes) or main page (hashcat.net), where all supported algorithms are listed. If it is not on there, it is not supported.

Yes, thats right. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get your 4 16x GPUs even with Threadripper, because there are always at least 4 Lanes reserved for the Chipset. The only option to get 4 times 16x...

Right, don't use SLI with Hashcat. The recommended OS for Hashcat is Ubuntu (Hashcat is developed on Ubuntu), but Windows is also fine. I agree with Sondero, that you should have at least 64GB R...
