Ok, thanks. Can you create a special charset that would specify bytes with low ASCII codes? Such as the ASCII range from 0 to 31? Or the possibility to somehow specify EACH of the first 31 ASCII code...

Yes, I used the hex format for the salt file (two characters for one byte). I didn't know that it does not work with hashcat... Is there any way in which I could feed "binary" salts to hashcat? (more ...
