What GPU features are important for hash cracking?
#1
I've seen shader units, GPU clock speed, memory clock speed, boost, pixel rate, texture rate etc but can anyone shed some light on which of these features are used and useful for hash cracking?

Thank you!
#2
number of cores and core frequency

Have a look at http://golubev.com/gpuest.htm (SP/ALU count & Clock rate)

Ah okay. Would you be able to give an estimation on the following (would help a lot!):

a) GPU 1 (768cores and 850+boost freq) vs GPU 2 (768cores and 657+boost freq) on single MD5 hash
b) GPU 1 (960 and 706+boost freq) vs GPU 2 (768cores and 657+boost freq) on single MD5 hash

Thanks so much!

depends on the architecture. better ask for specific gpus.

Oops sorry,

a) GeForce GTX765M vs GeForce GTX760M
b) GeForce GTX860M vs GeForce GTX760M

I know GeForce cards are not the best but would like get a estimate for these cards, thanks.

nVidia cards are crap for hashcat. And further if you have Mobile version.
"best" one is GTX860M.

Yes I know, how would these fair in terms of cracking a single md5 hash
