Best GPU for LUKS June 2019
#1
Question
Hi!,

I'm looking for the best LUKS hashing option on a single GPU, at around the us$ 600 mark (+/- us$ 100). Anyone care to share their experience?.

Options seem to be RTX 2070, GTX 1080(TI?). Also interested in the lowest possible power consumption.

Options for local sourced GPUs (+10% for taxes):

Around 13'900 H/s on 1080 Ti.
I can share speed of 2080Ti if interested later.

I'm interested. 2080Ti seems to double my budget though. In the meanwhile, found this thread:

Feeling helpless at the moment..

Yes 2080ti is quite expensive.
Here is the benchmark:

Code:
Benchmark relevant options:
===========================
* --optimized-kernel-enable
* --workload-profile=4

Hashmode: 14600 - LUKS (Iterations: 163044)

Speed.#1.........:    17432 H/s (50.22ms) @ Accel:2 Loops:1024 Thr:1024 Vec:1

In my opinion 1080ti has a better ratio perf/$ if you can afford it. Otherwise buy 1080 or 1070ti or 1070...

What about GTX 1080ti vs RTX 2070?
