I have been experimenting with this program and up untill now all had been going well.

I am trying to experiment with appending decimals to the end of a password. But before I go in to masks etc. I need to make sure that the theory is correct.

I started with a simple capture using airodump with the password "arlenesplace" (The Mrs) this worked great. I then changed the password to include digits "arlenesplace1234" and used airodump again. Unfortunately oclHashcat won't find the amended password the syntax I am using is....

oclHashcat-plus64.exe -m 2500 C:\Users\Dad\Desktop\oclHashcat-plus-0.15\Hccaps\Deepspace.hccap List.txt

If I place "arlenesplace" back into the list it finds the password as "arlenesplace" but not with the appended digits.

The capture was made in a VM and I thought that for some reason aircrack was holding onto the original handshake so I restarted The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) but with the same results.

Any Ideas?

If it needs to be in a future release it would be nice to see hashcat support it natively vs using the pipe. I know I could use combinator and combine two dictionaries to disk, then run it to plus with rules, but it takes a ton of diskspace.]]>

In the hashcat chart it says the HD7970 achieves 130k/s+ also saw one guy on forum saying his 7970 got 85k/s at stock speeds.

GTX770 CORES 1536 3.2 TFLOPS 27K to
7970 CORES 2048 3.79 TFLOPS 85k to 133K

The specs are not that different to justify that gap am i missing some options?

I played with -u and -n but barely managed to get 33k/s still too low in comparison.]]>

I am just setting up my new dedicated Hashcat box, and I am having a bit of a odd issue. I am using Ubuntu 12.4 and when I try and run a example .sh I get the following

Quote:cannot execute binary file

I checked the permissions and they where set to 004 across the board, so I used chmod -R 777 /path/to/location/ to give anyone and every one full access to the file in a effort to troubleshoot the issue. And I am still getting:

It's not so smart to just put ?d's after the hash file. But I'm out of opinions and this was the closest I could get. Any help?]]>

If I know the password start with 4 number and end with one space, what's the mask should be?

I think the possible way is to use --hex-charset to set space to user charset? But I don't know how to use --hex-charset, anybody can help me ?

Just built a new computer. i74930, 32 gigs, dual AMD R9 290s, and I was wanting to test out how this would do cracking some hashes. I have a test list, moved my dictionary and rules over, was about to begin a run and I got this..

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do? I assume the cards are supported, but that could be an incorrect assumption. I'm running catalyst 13.11, might I need to change the driver?
