Is there an OS more recommended than an other for performance ? Win/Linux ? |

pros and cons for both.
i like linux more but if you are going to overclock gpu then windows is easier to do that with, especially with voltage overclocking |

No overclocking. I like linux too but will I get more performance if I only use the shell (no x-server like kde/gnome) under linux ? |

you have to run a x-server, at least for amd cards. btw, kde/gnome are no "x-servers" but window managers... you don't need a window manager at all.
