Full Version: Desktop unusable even with workload 1

Hello guys,

I've just upgraded to V6.1.1 from 5.1.0 and I've noticed that the desktop becomes barely usuable even with parameter -w 1.

It seems to me that the 5.1.0 was much less impacting the desktop performances.

Maybe there's nothing I missed or other parameters I could change?

My setup: Linux / GTX 1070ti.

Thanks Smile
I'm the only one with this problem? Do you guys all have dedicated rigts?
it's probably the thread tuning (-T , --kernel-threads), because it's the only one that is kind of newish with the latest versions.
you could play around with -n -u -T (but you need to use the force paramter for that advanced/manual tuning).
Maybe even -w 1 -T 16 (and force it) would show you if it's less laggy.

Yeah, most desktops can handle that load pretty well, I'm often using -w 3 and still am using the desktop quite normally.

It also depends a lot on the whole hardware/setup you have and the hash type (there are huge differences !).
