Full Version: Does hashcat use GPU to calculate binary hashes?

Hiya

Total basic/newby question here so please indulge me.

I have been told that it is nor possible to calculate binary hashes like SHA1 using GPU.

Is this correct or does hashcat manage to do this?

short answer, of course hashcat is capable of running/calculating sha1 on gpu
