can i simply add these two cap files that i got into the Haschat GUI and then start cracking?

Yes, but for oclHashcat v1.01 they need to be of the same WPA type. That is either both WPA or both WPA2. Mixed mode will be supported in v1.20.

Basically all i did was you a script in Linux to capture the handshake and thus those two cap files were produced.

So from what ive learned: all that is inside the file is a string of numbers and letters a about 64 characters long?

thats really all i need to start cracking hashes?
