Hashcat build questions - Hopelessone - 08-29-2016
Hi,
Making first build for hashcat only.
So far, the only hardware I have got is an R9 290X
I'm thinking of getting an AMD FX 8350 8 core cpu simply because its $150 (AU) with Motherboard. Is this ok? budget would go $250 for cpu.
Also how much mem do you need for this hashcat setup?
I was thinking of either setting up a headless server and ssh into the server, is this still current? https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=linux_server_howto
or using an old acer 1gb graphics card for a monitor. What are your thoughts?

Why do you need that old shitty gpu? Just plug your dvi/hdmi in the 290.
Buy the fastest cpu and the cheapest board, 8 gb ram should be enough
