Hello all,
Can someone tell me why every time I convert a cap file to hccapx cap2hccapx writes 2 or more handshakes. When intial cap file is checked with aircrack aircrack shows on 1 handshake

Please any info how to fix this as it seems to stop hashcat cracking this hash even when I put the password as the mask.

Use Zerbea tools for WPA related tasks like this one, https://github.com/ZerBea/hcxtools

Never tried on Windows (you need to compile it).
Usage: hcxpcaptool -o file.hccapx file.cap
More option available in the help (hcxpcaptool -h).
If you don't have linux, you can get an online version to convert your file(s).

I never tried on windows, but you can try and let us know if it works.
Alternatively you can use online tool which uses hcxtools such as https://www.onlinehashcrack.com/cap2hccapx
