tried to install it on ubuntu but it didnt work. so i dont think many users could use it.

it works fine under redhat (root#>ipmi-sensors), i didn't try it under ubuntu yet as the hurricane knocked out our entire campus' power. i guess it's not that important as we will be monitoring the systems with zabbix anyhow (which support ipmi).
