Don't be fooled by the preliminary results and compare gaming/synthetic benchmarks to practical integer performance.
Also, as long as it's at least 20% faster than 7970, it's a win.

the AMD presentation about new card was interesting.
But actually it's sad that card will has only 2816 stream processors, i've expect that it will be at least 4096 (2x of 7970), but marketing did it evil work.

AMD published some teasers back in December of last year, but haven't said a word about it since. they continue to release GCN-based GPUs, so i presume GCN2 just simply doesn't exist.

no, this was a pre-release rumor. all the official materials from AMD say it's GCN, not GCN2. show me something official that says GCN2.
