Hashcat and Remote Desktop. - Pilsener - 06-20-2022

I am running Hashcat on a Win7 PC that I operate (or WANT to operate) by Remote Desktop.
However, this make the PC lock up after a while.  Black screen and no response.
Have to do a hard reset.

This does NOT happen if I operate the PC locally.

Has anyone else experienced this?

so the pc freezes, what type of remotesoftware do you use?

sounds like a problem when your remotesession is closed due to idling

Remote desktop is kinda vague, u use Google remote desktop, real VNC?
is it a laptop with win7 and is the lid closed by any chance?

I realize that it is not what you are asking, But have you considered to use SSH or Telnet?

Another possibility could be energy savings options, as far as i know, hashcat isnt blocking the pc from turning into energysaving mode, you have to set it for yourself to never change to energysaving
