oclHashCat-plus crashes on 7970 (Linux & Windows)

oclHashCat-plus crashes on my Radeon 7970.
Neither on Gentoo Linux (kernel 3.2.12-gentoo, x11-drivers/ati-drivers-12.2) nor on Windows 64 Ultimate with the up to date Catalyst driver.

What could I provide to help debug?

Yes. oclHashcat-plus v0.07 does not support hd7970. oclHashcat-plus v0.08 beta does, but is not public accessible. You have to be patient. In the meanwhile you can use oclHashcat-lite for tests with the hd7970.
