the question is what you are trying to do. and why you would need that feature.
I'm pretty sure it was removed because hashcat can't really be configured to have an update of the progress every x seconds, and therefore the file would be written without any update.
The way it's done now is that an updated progress will be stored whenever the restore point is increased (or we changed to a new mask or dict etc).
