Using only 1 gpu

Hello, is there a reason or a setting why Hashcat only uses 1 GPU out of 5 when its testing a easier combo ?

For example ?u?l?d only uses 1 gpu out of 5.

But when it is doing a ?u?l?l?l?d it will use 5

Is there a way to change this ?
