Good news: Yes, you can cluster multiple machines with hashtopolis like that. It has been done many times and with far more machines/GPUs than that.
Bad news: it won't matter at all if you are trying to run ?a x12 as that keyspace is still FAR too big to ever complete.If you ran the fastest normal mode (NTLM) which would net you 16TH/s across 4x 14 4090 machines, it would take 1071 YEARS to complete that attack. It's not feasible and hashcat/hashtopolis shouldn't even let you start that kind of attack.
